Enhance Your Creativity In 2 Easy Steps

Updated: Oct 24, 2022

First, you need to train your brain. Second, you need to encourage it.

To encourage creativity, feed those amazing ideas you have by taking action. Just do it. Encouragement, and positive self-talk. can work wonders on the brain. So, how do you encourage creativity? First, by paying attention to it.

Your subconscious mind tends to give you more of what you pay attention to. If you ignore the creative aspects of your life, you're telling your subconscious it's not important. If you're aware and you look for opportunities to be creative, your subconscious mind will start feeding you more creative ideas.

Another way to encourage and increase creativity is to write your ideas down. Keep a journal. Do this regularly and notice you'll start having more ideas the moment you begin to write. A simple idea can transform into something very creative and that’s exciting!

So, encourage your creativity by putting your ideas into practice. If you color, paint or write, for example, try anything new. The point is to get your mind working outside of its regular patterns. Like coloring outside the lines, it’s ok.

And speaking of coloring, I’d like to mention and introduce you to a wonderful new coloring book by a dear friend Lindy Longhurst. Lindy is the artist who created the commissioned mandala I use for my logo. She’s amazing! Lindy has a new coloring book, Magic Mandala, hot off the presses. It’s absolutely stunning and if I may, highly recommend it. Learn more about the coloring book here.

Fair warning, you’ll love shopping on her beautiful Etsy website. Link provided.

Getting back to being creative...a simple change of environment can get your brain to stop looping. An activity like coloring is not only good for you, it's especially helpful to refocus your attention to stop the mind chatter. It brings you back to the present moment and that's a good thing.

And did I mention if you prefer to color socially, you can join a coloring circle or start your own?

Thank you for supporting Lindy. You'll see for yourself she is a kind and beautiful soul.
