Blooming Through Change: My Curatorial Journey Unfolds

ree

For nearly a decade, my curatorial journey has been rooted in community, creating spaces that honour diverse voices, stories, and ways of seeing. Through my work with the Halton Black History Awareness Society (HBHAS) and the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton (CCAH), I’ve witnessed how art can spark dialogue, inspire healing, and bring people together in celebration of identity and resilience.

I’m so thrilled to share something close to my heart. My proposal for a new group exhibition titled ST!LL BLOOM!ING – Emerging in Radiance, Rooted in Resilience, submitted to the Art Gallery of Burlington’s Community Generator Series.

This exhibition brings together nine artists whose works explore themes of personal growth, ancestral memory, and collective resilience through botanical and floral forms. Each piece is a reminder that, like flowers, we bloom sometimes quietly, sometimes against all odds but always beautifully, in our own time and way.

Curating ST!LL BLOOM!ING feels like an evolution of everything I’ve learned and loved: blending artistry, storytelling, and healing into one shared experience. I can’t wait to see this vision take root and unfold in the months ahead. Stay tuned for more updates.

With Love & Encouragement
